wildvision: (Watari - Confident)
Okay, so you may remember that I posted a while back, complaining about losing my old software when I upgraded to Windows 10, and the difficulties I was having in replacing them. Well, I might have worked out a solution to one of those issues. Maybe.

I've been watching anime lately, and I really wanted to work out a way for me to keep screencapping it. I was able to find places to download screencaps that other people had posted for a couple of series on my to-be-watched list, but not for most of them. So I needed to figure something out. Well, I might just have it. It's not a perfect solution, but it might work.

I use VLC Player for most of my video watching. And, since upgrading, I've also used it to watch DVDs. The only problem being that when you use VLC to screencap a subtitled video, the subs appear on the screencaps. Which makes them pretty useless. While trying to find a setting that would allow me to take sub-free caps, I stumbled on a feature that I didn't even know existed. Apparently, you can set VLC to auto-screencap. You just have to give it an image format, a location, and how often you want to cap. (Every 'x' number of frames, I think is how it goes.) So this is pretty cool, right? The only downside being that I have to essentially run through each disk twice. Once to watch it, with subtitles on. And once to run the automatic capping, with subtitles off. That's the only way to get sub-free caps in VLC, apparently.

So, yeah. I'm trying it out on the next series I plan to watch. It's a little inconvenient, having to go through each disk twice. Especially since I'm trying to not do anything else on the computer at the time, so VLC can have all the system resources it needs. But, still. I do really like being able to watch anime without having to manually cap it myself. I never really realized how much of a pain that was, until I stopped doing it. And now, I really prefer it this way. So, being able to just sit and watch makes this option very attractive. Even if I do have to go back and run the disk again later. The only other issue is how many caps it's generating. I may need to tinker with the settings a bit, I'm not sure. The way I've got it set now, I'm getting a lot of duplicates. Anytime there's a scene with people standing around talking, not moving much, I get a bunch of very similar shots. So, I may raise the number of frames between caps a bit. I'm just afraid that if I do that, I'll miss out on good caps during fast paced segments. So, I don't know. I've done two disks, so far. I'm going to go through those caps and weed out the duplicates, and any other useless ones. (Scenery, blurry shots, etc.) If that's not too big of a pain, I might just leave it as-is. If it is, then I'll consider changing it.

We'll see how it goes, but I'm hopeful that this might work out. <3

EDIT: Okay, well I learned something else. Apparently, if you try to cap any of the extras, VLC thinks it's capping something new, and it overwrites the old caps already in the folder. =P Not a huge deal, but a little annoying. So, I guess if there are any extras (like textless opening/ending sequences) that I want to cap, I'll have to remember to do just one at a time, then stop the disk and move the files. Then I can start the disk again and do the next one the same way. Repeat until all extras are covered. Then stop the disk, move the files, and restart the disk to cap the actual episodes.

Alright, I've had just about enough of this crap.

This got a little long... )

Why do newer OSs have to break old software? It's not fair. And, with that being the case, why the fuck do all the good programs get abandoned or discontinued, so there are no newer version to upgrade to? Argh!
wildvision: (Beatrice/Battler - Anime)
I haven't posted in a little while, so here's a bit of an update.

I turned in my course project paper for Economics and my final website project for my HTML class. I actually got perfect scores on both, so that's a huge relief. It's one of those things where I thought I did okay, but I wasn't sure enough of what the professor was looking for, so I was worried about how I'd do. But, it turned out okay. So, I'm really glad about that.

The semester is almost over, which is nice. I'm running around, trying to finish the last of the homework. I've got four more assignments in Economics. (And the first one is a bunch of math and graphing, ugh.) They're not due for a bit, but I want to get them done sooner than later, if I can. I don't know when my prof will post our final; he gave due dates for it, but I hope to get it done well before that.

All I have left in my HTML class and my Operation Mgmt. class are the finals. I have one stupid discussion board thing for my Database Design class. It's annoying mostly because she's requiring us to comment on every single one of our classmates' posts, plus respond to a set number of comments. So, I can't actually do it until everyone else does. Like, just now, I went and looked at it? Only one person has posted their initial post. =/ So, I can write up mine, and comment on that guy's post, but then I'll have to keep coming back and checking to see when everyone else has posted. And, if previous classes are anything to go by, a lot of people will wait until the very last minute to post anything at all. So, I'm worried if I'll have time to get everything done.

And my anxiety has been kicking up a lot lately, which sucks. It makes everything else harder. I keep trying to distract myself, but I don't really have a lot of time to do fun things, so it's not working as well as I'd like. (Plus, when I do take time to read, or whatever, I feel bad, because I feel like I should be doing homework, instead. Bleh.)

Nerdy HTML talk to follow )

And what is up with this new TOS at LJ? I am not comfortable with this. I don't know that it will really affect me any, but still, it's skeevy. >_> I had to click 'accept' in order to get back into my account, so I did. I've seen a lot of people jumping ship over this. I don't know that I'll do that, but I am considering not paying for the service anymore. (All I pay for is icons, but still.) And if I stop paying here, maybe I'll start paying for my Dreamwidth. I've just got a basic free account over there currently, but maybe I'll switch to a paid account, and get that journal spiffed up a bit. I'm also on InsaneJournal, but I think Dreamwidth might be more active. (Although, really, neither is anywhere near as busy as LJ was in its heyday. Sigh.)

...Jeez, this post got long!

Well, I did get sick. =P

Felt like crap by the end of the night on Thursday, then was full-blown sick by Friday morning. I worked from home that day, then basically just stayed in bed and tried to rest for the weekend. I thought I'd feel better by Monday, but no. So I worked from home again that night, too. Now it's Tuesday, and I'm finally feeling a bit better. Not over it, but I feel human enough to go to work, at any rate.

So here I am, typing this entry on my new laptop.

Yeah, that's something else that happened last week. I finally decided on a laptop and got it ordered. I went with the HP Notebook, and since it came from Amazon, I was able to use Dad's Prime account to get it here in two days. Lovely. Pretty much just in time to get sick. =/ Although, it was handy having it to use then, since I didn't feel like getting out of bed.

I think I like it okay, so far. I'm not crazy about the little arrow keys, as expected. They're awkward, and it seems like you have to hit them twice as hard, sometimes, or they don't register the keystroke. And the touchpad sucks, but I normally never use the thing, so that's not a big deal. I'm still getting used to the chicklet-style keyboard. It feels a little weird, but I'll get used to it the more I type on it, I guess. Overall, I think it's okay. There's always an adjustment period, whenever anything major changes. I don't like change; I'm a curmudgeon that way. But, other than just simply being different, I think it's mostly okay.
wildvision: (Alice - Two sides)
Okay, so I'm still looking for a new laptop. But I think I'm starting to narrow it down.

Does laptop buying have 'stages', I wonder? In my last post, I was pretty clearly stuck in 'anger'. But I think I've moved on to 'acceptance' now. I'm just so tired of all this crap, I just want to hurry up and pick one, to be done with it. So, I accept that I'm not going to get everything that I want. Now the question becomes, what am I willing to give up?

More long-winded rambling )

So, yeah. I'm not there yet, but getting there.
wildvision: (Default)
I swear, I'm about to start tearing my hair out, here.

Okay, so I said before that I'm looking for a new laptop. Well, apparently most of the laptop manufacturers suck, because I can't seem to find a single device that has everything that I want. I keep finding devices that look good, and I get excited, thinking maybe I've finally found it...but no, it's missing one thing that I need. And not always the same thing! But always something. I want to scream.

This got long... )

...And I could probably go on, but I should really stop now. I'm just really frustrated right now. =/

Crap!

I am an idiot. And I fail at time management, or something.

I said before that Dad upgraded my desktop for me as a gift, and that I was going to upgrade my laptop myself. Well, I initially figured that I'd wait a bit. Give myself time to get used to Windows 10, acclimate and all. Then I'd upgrade my laptop. But I screwed up. See, I need Access 365 on my laptop in order to do the homework for one of my classes this semester. This semester...which has already started. And guess what won't run on WinXP? Yeah, Office 365. So, I have to have a new laptop, and I need it yesterday.

Laptop flailing )

I've found a few that I'm looking at. I'll have to look them all over, and see what the differences are, and start deciding what's important and what's not. And how much I want to spend. Because I have got to get this thing ordered, pronto. Until I get it, I'm stuck doing my CIT170 homework after hours, on my desktop. And by that time of night, I'm usually about ready to fall asleep. Not so good when concentration is needed. Hell, I have to do that tonight! Go home and do this homework. No idea how long it'll take, but I'm already exhausted, and in no mood for this crap. But I gotta do it, so. Guess that's incentive to get off my indecisive ass and pick a laptop already. I don't want to have to keep doing this!
wildvision: (Default)
I mentioned before that I'd gotten an update for my desktop for Christmas/my birthday. Part of that upgrade is a copy of Windows 10. That's a pretty big change from the Windows XP I was running before.

Just some thoughts )

I think that's it, so far. I'm still playing around, figuring things out. I may have more thoughts, later.
wildvision: (Sora - Look to the sky)
I swear, I've been feeling short of sleep for about the past week or so. Normally, you'd think I could catch up a bit over the weekend, right? Yeah, not this time.

This got a little long... )

So, I'm running on somewhere between 3 and 4 hours of sleep right now. I'm barely coherent at this point. I do get to go home earlier, since my shift started early. I think I'll come home, have my bath, and then try to get to bed somewhat early tonight. *Crosses fingers*
wildvision: (Default)
Ah, weekends always go by way too fast. *Sigh*

Well, first off, good news on the laptop front. I was able to get a universal charger, so I'll be able to use my laptop again. I'm still thinking I'd like to replace the battery, but Dad says that it would be easier to order that; it's not something that would be easy to find locally. Which is fine. Getting the charger buys me time. =) So I'm really grateful for that.

Some not-so-good news on another shopping front. I need a new bra, so I did a little looking around today. And any ladies out there know what a nightmare that is.

Cut for bra-related rantings )

And, on the school front, I've got a paper to write. Now, this wouldn't be so bad, if my professor hadn't gone out of her way to pick the shittiest topics ever. I swear to God, she couldn't have thought up worse ones if she tried. And of course, we can't pick our own topic; it has to be one off the list. So I'm seriously dreading this. I haven't written an essay in years; it's not a real-world skill. So I'm probably a little rusty anyway. And now I have to do it on a terrible topic. I'm cringing already. =P

...Jeez, it's late. I better be getting to bed. Gotta work tomorrow. (Plus schoolwork to do, bleh.)
wildvision: (Default)
Ugh, it feels like it should be the weekend, already. =P Thankfully, tomorrow's Friday, but still.

I really need the weekend, because I have to run to Best Buy, or other similar shops. Why, you ask? Well, my laptop kinda crapped out early this week. Actually, I suppose that's a bit overly dramatic. What happened was this. My power cable has been looking kinda gnarly for a while, and it's finally frayed to the point of not working any more. (And this is after me taping it up twice before.) Now, this would be problematic enough on its own, but that's not all. No, my battery is also crap. I think it has been for a while, but honestly, the vast majority of the time that I'm using my laptop, I'm sitting at my desk with the thing plugged into the wall for power. So, it's never really been an issue before. But, without my AC adapter, the battery is the only power source. And if it won't hold a charge, well...

So, yeah. I've been laptop-less all damn week and it's driving me absolutely crazy. I'm such a geek, I swear. I still have my desktop and my smart-phone, but still...I want my damn laptop! So now I'm just praying that I'll be able to find a new battery and a new charge cable. This probably wouldn't be a big deal, except that my laptop is old. A quick check of my old entries reveals that I bought it in early 2007. Yeah...this thing is eight years old. So, I'm worried whether I'll be able to find parts compatible with such an old model. I have no idea how specific this stuff is; I haven't had to buy much in the way of parts for this thing, so I really don't know. ^^;; All I know is that my patience is really running thin.

Seriously, guys. Cross your fingers for me. I really, really want to get those things this weekend. Because if I can't find them in a store, I'm going to have to order them online, and that will mean at least another week without my damn laptop. (And I've got homework to do, here! That's one thing I use it for!) I really, really don't want to have to wait that long. =(
wildvision: (Kaiba - Create)
So, I got a shiny new computer at work, today. Mine had been acting up, and I'd had to use a coworker's the past couple of nights. So this was a pleasant surprise. I'd hoped they'd fix me up with one, but I honestly didn't expect to get it this quickly. So, huzzah for that.

Normally, this would not warrant a post. But, see, when I saw 'new' computer, I mean 'new'. My old machine was running Windows XP. (As do my personal computers.) This new one has Windows 7. I've not really used Windows 7 before. Dad's had Windows 7 on his desktop for some time, so I've poked at it a little, but that's really all the experience I have with it.

Honestly, for being as much of a computer geek as I am, I'm kind of a curmudgeon when it comes to upgrading software and operating systems. I'm a big proponent of the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" school of thought. These days, it seems like companies love to rearrange things and 'redesign' everything, even when it doesn't need it. Basically, they love to change things, just for the sake of changing them. And I hate that. If something's a legitimate improvement, great. But most of the time, it's just messing with the aesthetic, or wrecking perfectly functional things that worked just fine the way they were.

So, with that in mind, here are my thoughts and complaints about Windows 7.

In case this gets long... )

Final verdict? Surprisingly, hopeful. Despite all my bitching, I think that, now that I've made the necessary tweaks, I'll adjust to the new OS okay. I'm just aggravated that it took so much trouble to put things back to normal. =/

Anyone have any experience with a graphics tablet, like a Wacom or something?

I've been thinking about getting one. I'm not terribly skilled, artistically, but I enjoy playing with images. I'd like to get better at it, and I think that having better tools might help. I know from trying that if I need to draw something, using the mouse is a huge pain. Plus, it tends to not give very good results. (For me, anyway.) So, I thought that if I had a pen to hold and draw with, that would feel much more natural, and would hopefully work better. So I started looking at tablets.

They're not super expensive, but they cost enough that I'm wary about buying one without being able to try it out, first. If I knew that it would do what I wanted, and that I would be able to learn it easily enough, and that I would end up using it often, then I wouldn't mind paying the price for it. But not knowing...I'm just afraid I'd buy it, then end up not liking it and never using it. In which case, it's kind of a big waste of money. =P

Plus, I'm not sure about software. I have an old version of Paint Shop Pro, but I don't know if that would work. (I kind of think not. If it was a newer version, I wouldn't be that worried, but I've had this one for ages.) And I know GIMP is a free Photoshop-type program that's available, but I've never used it. (Assuming it would even work with the tablet.)

I asked my dad to see if any of his computer geek buddies have one that they'd be willing to let me borrow for a little while. So, I'm crossing my fingers. If I can have one to play with, and try to get the hang of, I'd feel a lot more comfortable buying one of my own.

This was mostly a ramble, but I would love to hear about it if anyone has any experience with these tablets, advice, or anything like that. XD

Huzzah!

Well, I have my desktop back. <3

Got it set up late Sunday night, and I've spent most of my free time this week working on getting my files copied over, and arranged in the proper order. I'm mostly done...still a couple of things that need organizing, but the biggest part is finished.

So, to celebrate, have a meme. =D

Leave me a comment and I will give you a letter. Then write 10 things that you love starting with that letter . Post the list in your journal. Give out letters to your commenters in return.

Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] kakumeichan, who gave me the letter "M"!

And yes, this will be mostly fannish. I am a nerd, remember?

1. Mustang! =D (Roy's always been one of my favorite FMA characters.)
2. Matsushita Yoko (Now, if she'd only finish YnM!)
3. Mai (as in Kujaku, from YGO)
4. ...Mai (as in Fire Nation, from Avatar XD)
5. Moody Blues (Seen them in concert at least 4 times now~!)
6. Megumi Hayashibara (I love her music mostly, but her acting, too.)
7. Magic Knight Rayearth (Mecha and magical girls. How fun is that? =D)
8. Manga (It's waaaaay too easy to collect, and then you end up with a ton of it. XD)
9. Music (Lots of different kinds, in a number of languages.)
10. M*A*S*H (I just got a bunch of episodes from Netflix, so yay!)

Argh!

God, computer problems suck.

I got BSOD'd on Wednesday night, and then the damn thing wouldn't even boot. At all. So, I left Dad a note, asking him to look at it. He did, and on Friday night he told me that the hard drive had failed. He thinks it's that the circuit board got messed up, because the drive still spins, but nothing he plugs it into will recognize it as a drive.

So, I lost everything that I didn't have backed up somewhere. Which is a fair bit. (And the thing that really gets me? I was planning to do a backup this weekend! Yeah. I'd thought about it last week, but didn't get around to it. So, I was going to do it this week. You see how well that worked. =P)

I've been able to track down some of what I lost. (FMA episodes, manga, etc.) I spent most of yesterday downloading stuff. And today, I'm trying to find a way to figure out a way to get back the music I lost. Finding the mp3s isn't the problem so much as knowing what they are. I've got most of them on my iPod, but I can't figure out how to sort the files the way I need.

See, my main library in iTunes was sorted by date. (So the newest files were at the bottom of the list.) But my playlists are sorted alphabetically. I don't know if there's a way to view my whole library, sorted the way I had it, on my iPod. I've not been able to find anything about that yet. Anybody know?

Or, failing that, is it possible to copy files from my iPod to my computer? That would work, too. But I don't know how to do that, either. Neither does Dad. Again, anybody know anything?

Oh, and by the way, I still don't have my computer back. I went to Warren's on Saturday to buy a new HD, but they were out of the size I needed. So, I have to wait until they can get one ordered. (Linda said hopefully they'd have it on Tuesday, which isn't too bad. But still.) And since I'm upgrading, I'm probably going to have to buy a new external drive fairly soon, too. They need to be the same size, y'know?

So I'm on my laptop for the time being. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get that drive soon, and that Dad will get everything put back together ASAP.

...Wah. =(

Um...

Anyone know how to adjust the color saturation on an Acer Aspire 5610 laptop?

Google has failed me; I can't find a damn thing about it. I can find the other basic monitor settings (brightness, contrast, gamma), but for whatever reason, saturation isn't with them. Hell, can it even be done? 'Cause I've looked everywhere I can think of to find that damn setting. =P

This is annoying, because I like to work on graphics while I'm out and about with my laptop. Thing is, the saturation is off by so much that it really makes doing any graphics work hard. Hell, out of the last batch of things I made on the laptop, I've had to go back and redo a big chunk of them because they're way over-saturated when viewed on my desktop. (Which is my default machine, and thus what I go by.)

...Also, what the hell is up with LJArchive? It worked fine until earlier, but now I'm getting an error. And so are a lot of other users, apparently. But no mention of a fix. Wah.

Finally~!

Oh, internet...I missed you. <3 My wonderful, lovely desktop...I missed you most of all. <3

*Cough* Ahem. Yeah....I've been without a computer for nearly two weeks due to a really nasty virus problem. Thankfully, my dad is a Tech God, and managed to salvage my files, so I didn't lose anything. And I finally broke in that new external HD I bought...oh, months ago. So now, all my files are backed up nicely, and I have a new addition to my desk. So, goodbye clunky DVD backups! =D This is so much easier!

Due to the aforementioned problems, it was necessary to wipe my HD and reinstall everything. This has resulted in an unwilling upgrade to FireFox 3. I'm not pleased. I don't like the design much, but mostly I hate the so-called "awesome bar"...whoever came up with that stupid bit of code needs to be smacked on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper. Seriously...the address bar in FF2 was fine. And you know the saying; if it ain't broke, don't fix it! They'd better put out an update that lets you pick to go back to a FF2-style address bar. And the only reason I haven't downgraded is because they're stopping support for FF2 in about a month. And those security updates are important, so I don't have a choice; if I want to keep my security up-to-date, I have to upgrade. So, boo Mozilla. You're in the doghouse for now. Clean up your act.

And I've been sick this past week. (Bleh, allergies are evil...) Not fun. Though, I think I'm over it now. And I have to say...during this whole mess; no computer, sick half the time...my TiVo has been a godsend. Oh, so much love for that little box. <3

As for the election, this comic just about covers my reaction. =D I'm thrilled to say that this is one of those wonderful times that I'm not embarrassed to be an American. Separation of church and state FTW. I'd kinda thought that Obama would win, but hell...this country was stupid enough to elect Bush not once, but twice. So, electing Bush 2.0 wasn't exactly a stretch. I was so relieved. Also, I'm quite ready to see someone stuff Sarah Palin in a box and mail her back where she came from. (Sorry, Alaskans. If you don't want her either, feel free to forward the box to Abu Dhabi.) I really can't stand that woman. I wasn't going to vote for McCain anyway, but if I had been...I'd have voted against him just because of her. Seriously. So, in short, yay election! =D

...I think that's it, for now. <3

I swear...this is getting seriously old. I have been such a slug lately.

About all I did this weekend was watch TV. I bought the Freakazoid season 1 set on Thursday, and that's kept me entertained for a while. (Yes, Kat's being nostalgic. I loved that cartoon as a kid. Hell, I still laughed at parts of it! And the theme song is now firmly stuck in my head, thank you very much.)

I think the only productive thing I've done lately is work on some Winamp skins. I remade an old one and made a new one, both Slayers...I haven't posted them yet, 'cause I'm hoping I'll be able to do more. Though, with my lethargy lately, maybe I should just go ahead and post. =P

Also, note to self, I still need to go back and rewatch the Avatar finale. I'm going to cap it, plus I want to write a belated squealing-fangirl-post about it. Because it was just that awesome. <3

I kinda want to look for some fic (both Avatar and otherwise), but I just started a new book series on Thursday, so I'll be spending most of my free time at work reading for a while...I'm afraid if I spend yet more time reading fic, I'll get sick of it. =P

And, for some reason, I keep feeling the urge to change things. I want a new wallpaper, for one. This has been on my desktop for quite a while now...it's pretty, but I'm ready for something new. (Now, if only I could find a decent wallpaper. Bleh. =P) Plus, I need new icons for my LJ. And maybe even a new layout/mood theme...I'm not sure yet. And I think I'm going to redo my userinfo, but again, I'm not sure how. Blargh.

That's what's really annoying...I want to do things, but I just can't seem to get myself going most of the time. =P

...Well. This post was extremely rambling and pointless, wasn't it? >_>
wildvision: (Sakura - Colored manga)
...I just haven't really felt like posting lately, even though I have things to write about. =P

First, the weather. We've had more snow this year than I can remember us having in a very long time...and it's only March. Seriously. The big snow mentioned in my last entry was the start...then we got another big one about a week later. Like, the majority of the previous snow had been gone for maybe a day or two when it snowed again. Then we've had two small snows since then. Hell, it was snowing as I drove to work today. >_>

And remember how I had to buy a new monitor a little while back? Well, not long ago, I ended up having to rebuild my machine pretty much from the ground up. It just...stopped. Dropped dead, basically. Dad looked it over, and said that everything (or very nearly) had to go. So, I bought parts...everything except a DVD-RW drive, since mine was still new. Thankfully, my hard drive didn't fail, though I did end up buying a new one, anyway. (When Dad was picking up my parts, he called me at work and asked if I wanted a new 500 GB hard drive, to go along with the new box. I said hell yes. =D) So, while it was kind of annoying to have the sudden expense, it worked out well enough. I didn't lose any data, and pretty much everything got significantly upgraded. I even got a new case (with USB and SD card readers in the front - my old case only had USB in the back...that tells you how old it was. =P) And my box is now sitting on my desk, rather than in that little cubby it was in before...so much easier to reach things.

And I actually got to see Jason on Saturday~! God, I can't even remember the last time we got to just sit and talk. And it was even warm enough for us to sit out on my porch. ^^ It was really nice...I wish he could have stayed longer. I don't get to see nearly enough of him anymore. But that's a whole 'nother entry. =P

On a less pleasant note, my brother's sick...he's been feeling bad for several days, and he just got to the doctor recently. Well, they called today...the results of his bloodwork came back. He has mono. (EDIT: And mumps. Yes. Both. Oh, my God...>_<) I feel so bad for him...that's going to suck so much. Mom says it's pretty much only spread through bodily fluids (saliva and such), so as long as we don't eat or drink after him, we should be okay. Still...I'll probably be paranoid about it for a while...I do not want to get this. >_<

And since Mom has to go to some dispatching class from Tues-Thurs this week (she won't get back until after I'm at work), I'll hardly get to see her for a while. She said we could get coffee on Friday, which will be nice, but still...Richie's sick and sleeping a lot, Mom'll be gone, and Dad always works during the day. I almost feel like I'm living alone...I don't like it. =P

...Geez, it's almost 4:00 already. I need to get to bed. Bleh.

Shiiiiiny~

I just got a new flatscreen monitor, and it's very shiny~

I hadn't been planning to get one any time soon; my old clunker still worked fine, and it's not something I cared enough about to replace until it needed it. Well, turns out it did need it. Last night, while Dad was messing with my DVD-RW drive, my monitor came unplugged. When he went to reconnect it, he saw that the plug (where it plugs into the box) was pretty well fubar'd. He managed to get it to connect again, but he told me in no uncertain terms that I needed a new one. So, today Madre and I went to Sam's and got one. I got a 21.6" widescreen Samsung, which is actually a bit bigger than my old one (19"). It's nice, though I'm taking a little bit to get adjusted to the change in resolution. Also, that new-monitor-uber-vivid-brightness. XD

...Bleh. And it's time for bed already. I swear...it's been like this all weekend. Where'd the time go? =P
