Finished, Yay!
Apr. 20th, 2011 07:34 pmWell, I got my car fixed this morning. They called me yesterday, to let me know the parts had come in. And they said I could just bring it in whenever, so I didn't have to get up so early today. (Which I'm really grateful for!) I did get up a little early, but not much. I got down there around 1:00, and then sat around waiting while they worked on it. Which really wasn't that bad, since I brought my book to read. Plus it only took them an hour or so. =)
But as I was waiting, they asked me if I still had the cover from my old mirror. Apparently, you have to order those separate, and they didn't. I don't know if they didn't know that, or if they just neglected to mention it when I came in on Monday. =P Either way, the guy took me out and showed me which part it was, after they'd finished. He said that if the one from my old mirror was still okay, I could use that, or they could order me one. I said I'd look at the old one first...it'd save me $20-30, plus an extra trip up there. Luckily, when I got home and looked, it was okay. There's a bit of a crack in it, but it's not that bad. I figure it's okay, at least for now.
And they touched up the paint, too. There were only a couple of scratches, but now you can't even see where they were. It looks really nice. =)
I've also been playing with my new key fob a bit. Initially, if you press the unlock button, it only unlocks the driver's door. I wanted it to unlock them all. So I took my owner's manual inside and looked through it a bit. Turns out you can make it unlock all the doors at once. If you press the unlock button twice in quick succession, it'll unlock everything. Also, it said how to reprogram the key fob to unlock everything with just one push of the button. (Or to switch it back.) So I tried it when I went out to leave for work, and I think it worked. =)
...I swear, I'm really not a car person, but I'm having fun playing with the new features and figuring things out about this one. I guess it's the whole 'new toy' aspect of it...after I've had it awhile, it'll become normal and won't be so interesting. But for now, it's fun. XD
And now, I'm off in search of caffeine. I'm tired, and I've got a bit of a headache. Hopefully some coffee will fix that. <3
