Tomorrow's Monday Already?
May. 13th, 2013 04:51 amWhy do weekends always go by so fast? XD At least it was a fun one!
On Saturday, we went to Paducah for a little food and shopping. Mom heard about this burger place online and wanted to try it. If you're ever in Paducah, you have to try The Station. OMG, the food was awesome. They had all kinds of burgers, including their signature Station Burger, which has bacon mixed into the patty. Yummy. And the fries are to die for, seriously. I don't know what kind of seasoning they put on them, but they're wonderful. And of course we all loved the fireman theme. =)
After that, we went to the mall for a little while. We browsed a bit, then went to Starbucks. I got an iced coffee, which is my usual warm weather drink, and a piece of the new raspberry pound cake thingy. It was really good! While we had our coffee, we sat and people watched. And that was entertainment in and of itself! Okay, so this mall has a little train that they drive around the mall. Like for kids. You can pay to ride it. So we'd seen this thing while we were shopping, but while we were sitting there, it went by again. But this time, there was a guy following behind it, dancing. Yeah. XD He went by us at least four times while we were sitting there, and it was hilarious.
After the mall, we went to see Iron Man 3. It was really good. I think it was the best of the three, honestly. I liked them all, but this one was my favorite. And you can tell it's coming up on summer movie season, because the trailers they showed before the movie all looked good. So now there's a bunch of other movies we want to see. XD The new Star Trek movie is first, of course. I think it comes out next weekend. We're going to have to go as soon as we can...we're all Trekkies. XD
After the movie, we headed back. We stopped for dinner, and picked up some groceries, but that's about it for Saturday.
Then today was Mother's Day, so we took Mom out for dinner. We asked her where she wanted to go, and she said she'd been trying to think of someplace nice, but kept coming back to the thought of Quatro's. (Which is a local pizza place) XD So, we went to Quatro's. Rich met us there, and we all had fun. The food was good, and it was nice to get to eat dinner with all four of us again. Mom liked her gifts; one thing we got her was a motorized pasta maker. She has a manual one, and it's a big pain in the butt to use. But homemade pasta is so good. So, we found the pasta maker attachment for her KitchenAid mixer. She was pretty happy. Hopefully she'll try it out soon!
And that's pretty much it. I had a lot of fun, but I didn't really do anything productive. XD Well, I did update my backups on Friday. But that's it. After running around so much, when I've been at home, I've been a total slug. Oh, well. It was a nice weekend, so it's okay. <3
