Snow and Chocolate
Mar. 4th, 2015 08:36 pmSo, it snowed again today. Apparently winter isn't done with us, just yet. XD
Often, we'll get snow during the overnight hours. This means that, by the time I get up in the afternoon, the road crews have usually had time to do their thing. Not always, of course, but often enough. Well, not today. See, we'd been getting rain off and on since yesterday afternoon. But the temperature was high enough for it to be just rain. The temp didn't drop enough for it to turn into ice and snow until maybe 7:00 this morning, or so. So, unsurprisingly, the roads were an absolute mess when I got up today.
So, I'm working from home. And maybe an hour or so ago, I started wanting a hot drink. I was a little cold, and hey. Any time the temperature is low, hot tea/coffee/etc. is always welcome. Anyway. My first thought was hot chocolate. Dunno why, but I wanted it. But, lazy beast that I am, I opted for tea, instead. Easier and quicker to make, you see. So, I had my tea, then went back to my desk.
Then, just now, in comes my mother, carrying a mug. Of hot chocolate. Seriously. XD We must be on the same wavelength, because she decided that snow demanded hot chocolate. So, now I'm sitting here, grinningly stupidly and enjoying my chocolate. It's funny how such a little thing can make you happy. <3
Oh, and according to my dad, we're at 5 1/2 inches of snow, so far. According to the maps I've seen, the town I work in likely has even more. Last I looked, it was still snowing. Not sure if it's stopped, and if so, if there will be any more. Hopefully the roads will be cleared by tomorrow. We'll see, I guess. ^^;;
