Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate it! I hope you had a good one. <3 I know I did.
We had dinner first, which is always nice. My mom's an awesome cook. And, in a stunning first, my brother made dessert; a mint-chocolate layer cake. It was really good, too. Dark chocolate cake, mint buttercream, dark chocolate ganache, and some mint and chocolate chips to garnish the top. Very pretty, as well as delicious. We were all suitably impressed. Mom especially; she says she always has trouble doing layer cakes, structure-wise. She usually ends up putting toothpicks in to keep it together and upright. But Rich did great; it held together, and was stable. So, yay.
After dinner, we exchanged gifts. Everyone liked what I got them. I was fairly sure they would, but it's still nice to see. =) And I liked my gifts, too! Among other things, I got some lovely anime and manga, courtesy of RightStuf's epic holiday sale. Have you ever seen Simoun,
amelia_seyroon? It's a yuri/shoujo-ai title, I gather. I can't remember if that's one you've mentioned before or not. But, it looks cool. The rest are ones I'm more familiar with. I've seen the first bits of Vampire Princess Miyu and Shakugan no Shana; at least enough to know I'm looking forward to seeing the rest.
And Rich brought his puppy with him, so it was hilarious watching him. Running around, trying to play with the weiners, and just being generally silly. He's so freaking cute, too. I swear, him and Millie...they went back and forth all day, I think. One thing I bought for Rich was a dog bed for him; he loved it. And whenever he was out of it, Millie was in. XD Then he'd come back and grumble and try to get her out.
That was about it for the excitement today, I think. After Rich went home, I watched some TV. Nothing special. Then, I've been puttering around online for a bit. I'd hoped to be a little productive today, but that's clearly not going to happen. XD Oh, well. I've just finished some left-overs, but now I'm eyeing that cake. Hmm...off to the kitchen I go~
