My HP-Fangirlism Strikes Again
My mother and I went and saw Goblet of Fire today. ^_^
Since she and I were both off today (Yay!), we decided to have some fun. We got breakfast/lunch (it was noonish, but 'twas breakfast for me =P) at Cracker Barrel, which was nice. We don't get to eat there very often, and I'd been craving their biscuits and gravy for the past couple of days. ^^;; After we ate, we headed over to the theater. We were a bit early, but at least we got good seats. ^_^
As for the movie, I must say...I was quite pleased. Truth be told, I was a bit disappointed by the PoA movie; so I was a little worried about this one, due in part to the fact that GoF was much longer than any of the previous books. But they did a good job. They didn't cut anything major, though they kinda ignored the subplots (like the whole Rita Skeeter thing). Also, they left the scene where Moody turned Malfoy into a ferret and bounced him around. And when McGonagall caught him..."What are you doing?" "...Teaching." XD Just awesome. I loved that scene in the book, and I wondered whether they'd leave it. Though, they cut the part where Moody used the Imperious curse on Harry, in class, and he fought it. It's not really important; I just liked that scene. ^^;;
Special effects were good, as is to be expected. Same goes for the acting. I was happy with the character designs of Moody and Voldemort, in particular. They really did a good job of making them look like they should. The soundtrack wasn't bad, either. There were actually vocals in this one; during the Yule Ball scenes, of course. They also did a good job with the costumes; Ron's dress robes were suitably hideous. ^^
Overall, a good movie-going experience. Only thing I could really complain about was this idiot family that brought their little girl, who couldn't have been more than four. Needless to say, by the time we got to the maze/graveyard scenes, she was crying. I think they took her outside after a while, but they brought her back in not long after; not surprisingly, she kept crying. I mean, really...how stupid do you have to be to do that? You child (who was too young to see this movie, in the first place) was upset by the scary parts. So, you take her outside and stay there with her! If you can't handle missing part of the movie to stay with your kid, then you leave her home! Grah...stupid parents annoy me.
But, yes. I had fun today. ^_^
