Why did the Flame of Recca anime have to suck so much? =(

I swear, I really wanted to like it. I rented it from Netflix back when it first came to DVD here, and I didn't care for it, so I never saw more than 1 disk's worth. But now, since I've just recently reread the manga, and I'm on a total squealing fangirl Recca kick, I decided to give it another chance.

So, I found a bunch of episodes subbed on Youtube. Lovely. Except that I was right the first time; the anime really, really sucks.

Something else I found on Youtube...the subbed ending videos of Flame of Recca: Final Burning, which is a PS2 game. Links here: Part 1, 2, 3, 4.

Now see, this...this is how the anime should have been. The art style and coloring is lovely, the acting is better, and it follows the manga exactly. Now if only there were more of it. =(

Well, crap. Not only is my schedule out of whack until the end of next week, but now it turns out that I have to go in an hour early on both Thursday and Saturday. I am not pleased. =P

Plus, work was rather hectic tonight. Apparently they'd had some technical problems earlier, and that caused things to be running rather late. Which resulted in lots of phone calls, and being at least an hour and a half late getting started with my usual processes. Granted, that's not the worst I've seen (not by a long shot!), but still...a bit annoying.

On a more positive note, I started rereading the Flame of Recca manga series tonight. I always really liked this one, but I lost track of it ages ago; largely because my local book stores never carried it, so I always had to order it online. Which made it a lot easier to forget. So I never got the last several volumes. Well, that's finally been remedied. So, I'm going back through the rest of the series, since it's been so long since I read it. And I'm already having fun. <3

...Well, I think it's time to go raid the kitchen. I need a snack. =)

I slept later than I meant to today...I just got up a little while ago. ^^;; I should have thought to set the alarm...I have to go in to work at 8:00 tomorrow, meaning I have to get up at 6:00ish...And getting up at 1:00pm doesn't exactly make it easy to go to bed early. =P Ah, well. Can't be helped.

Since Madre had to work today, we exchanged our gifts last night. I got volumes 5-9 of the Flame of Recca manga, which I loved. ^_^ That series has really grown on me. I also some other random things, mostly from well-meaning family members.

Jason's wanting to come over for a while, to see me, and to exchange our gifts...but I'm not sure that I want him to. It kinda sucks...I've been in this weird, almost mopey mood since yesterday...I hate being moody on Christmas. =P I'll wait until Madre gets home and ask if she minds him coming over...so I may or may not see him today.

I'm going to have to remember to see if I work this Thursday...if not, maybe I can at least get the family to go out to eat, or something, for my birthday...I don't know where or what, but I want to do something.

On the positive side, there's a new chapter up of "The New Students", here. Also, I finally got the first volume of Gravitation from Netflix. <3 Now I really want the other three!

Meh...I suppose I'll go putter around online a bit, then get some breakfast. Off I go...
