Yeah, I'm Still Alive...
Feb. 28th, 2004 06:22 pmGeez, it's been over a week since my last post. But with good reason! Last Saturday, my computer decided to act up. Apparently, my secondary HD died, and it tried to take the rest of the machine with it. =P So, for the first part of the week, my father fought with it. After he got it up, I spent the next few days backing up all my files. No, I didn't have them backed up before. Yes, I am that big of an idiot. Thank heavens for my CDRW...I have a lot of stuff, quite a bit of which is irreplacible. So, yeah. Backing things up is good. ^^ I just finished backing things up today. Now, I just gotta find a place to keep this huge stack of CDs...
Plus, it turns out that my monitor had darkened, for some reason. It must have happened gradually, because I never really noticed it. My father, on the other hand, took one look at it and began tinkering with the visual settings. The brightness level is now back to normal. ^^;; Then, I had to go and fix several images/skins that I had made before, because they looked funky with a normal brightness level; mistakes that I couldn't see before, that kind of thing. I think that I've gotten most of that done.
Also, since sometime Wednesday afternoon, I've been kinda sick. Nasal conjestion, sore throat, lack of voice, that kind of thing =P I made it to class on Thrusday, but I had to stay home on Friday. Which means I missed my oral exam in Japanese. Grr. I'd have tried to go, but my voice was totally shot, so I couldn't have really taken it, anyway. Hopefully Yukie-sensei will let me reschedule it, so I don't lose the points.
Another thing...why is it that some people insist on calling when they know you're sick? My mom says that they're just checking up on you, which I would believe if they called and said "Hey, how are you feeling? Get better soon! Bye!"...nice, short and to the point. But that's not the case...they call and want a conversation. I think it might be an attempt to amuse/entertain me (sick people usually don't get really bored until they've been sick a while...), but when my voice is out of whack, I'm not really in any state to carry on a converstation. ~_~;;
...Lemme see...Oh, and I still haven't started on my lab for CS 220. Yeah, I'm an idiot. I'll try to start on it...plus, there's going to be some help sessions on Monday and Tuesday, I think. I'll try to go to one of those...Hopefully, this lab won't be as bad as the last one *Crosses fingers*. The specs are much shorter, but I'm not sure about the difficulty...
And I finally got to read the new Gravitation graphic novel! ^_^
( Cut for spoilers... )
