Okay, It's Official...
Apr. 8th, 2007 12:38 am...I'm still a horse-geek.
Mom and I went to see the Lipizzaner Stallions at SIU today. <3 So, so much love. We saw them once before, years ago...but I'm so glad that we got to see them again. The show was beautiful, as would be expected. The routines were all lovely; there was a bit more diversity to the musical selections than I'd expected, though. Besides the obvious classical music, there was also a more Spanish piece (bull-fighting music is the only way I can describe it; nice, though) and even a big band number! =D Not exactly traditional dressage music, but the routine was freaking awesome. <3
And we lucked out; we got really good seats. Only problem was the idiot sitting behind me couldn't be bothered to shut her fucking kids up. And she wasn't the only one, either. >_> Anyone who brings loudmouthed brats to a show deserves a kick to the head from one of these gorgeous stallions.
And, really...even though I've seen it before, it still gets me; the level of skill these riders have. And a couple of the girls looked like they were my age; that freaking young, and they're this skilled. It's impressive as hell. God, I'd kill to be able to ride half as well. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to ride since, maybe, junior high. Between school, and later work, I just haven't had time. Though, I'm half tempted to try and shuffle my schedule and make some time...There are stables around here. God, I'd be so out of practice, though. XD But still...I miss it.
As you might guess, I have been thoroughly unproductive today. ^^;; Hopefully, I'll do better tomorrow!
