Oh, internet...I missed you. <3 My wonderful, lovely desktop...I missed you most of all. <3

*Cough* Ahem. Yeah....I've been without a computer for nearly two weeks due to a really nasty virus problem. Thankfully, my dad is a Tech God, and managed to salvage my files, so I didn't lose anything. And I finally broke in that new external HD I bought...oh, months ago. So now, all my files are backed up nicely, and I have a new addition to my desk. So, goodbye clunky DVD backups! =D This is so much easier!

Due to the aforementioned problems, it was necessary to wipe my HD and reinstall everything. This has resulted in an unwilling upgrade to FireFox 3. I'm not pleased. I don't like the design much, but mostly I hate the so-called "awesome bar"...whoever came up with that stupid bit of code needs to be smacked on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper. Seriously...the address bar in FF2 was fine. And you know the saying; if it ain't broke, don't fix it! They'd better put out an update that lets you pick to go back to a FF2-style address bar. And the only reason I haven't downgraded is because they're stopping support for FF2 in about a month. And those security updates are important, so I don't have a choice; if I want to keep my security up-to-date, I have to upgrade. So, boo Mozilla. You're in the doghouse for now. Clean up your act.

And I've been sick this past week. (Bleh, allergies are evil...) Not fun. Though, I think I'm over it now. And I have to say...during this whole mess; no computer, sick half the time...my TiVo has been a godsend. Oh, so much love for that little box. <3

As for the election, this comic just about covers my reaction. =D I'm thrilled to say that this is one of those wonderful times that I'm not embarrassed to be an American. Separation of church and state FTW. I'd kinda thought that Obama would win, but hell...this country was stupid enough to elect Bush not once, but twice. So, electing Bush 2.0 wasn't exactly a stretch. I was so relieved. Also, I'm quite ready to see someone stuff Sarah Palin in a box and mail her back where she came from. (Sorry, Alaskans. If you don't want her either, feel free to forward the box to Abu Dhabi.) I really can't stand that woman. I wasn't going to vote for McCain anyway, but if I had been...I'd have voted against him just because of her. Seriously. So, in short, yay election! =D

...I think that's it, for now. <3
