Looking thorough RightStuf's annual holiday sale this past weekend got me to trying a couple of new series. There were some in the sale that I had an interest in, but I wanted to try them out before I bought them. So, off to Youtube and Hulu I went!
I've actually tried out a few different series, but there are two that I want to talk about now. I started off with Hakuouki. I'd heard of it, and I thought I'd like it based on what I knew. So, when I saw it on sale, I found it on Youtube.
( No real spoilers, but just in case! )
So, will I buy it? Probably not, at this point. I do think I might want to watch a little more, but I'm hesitant to say that I like this enough to watch it again later. So, the jury's still out on this one.
The other series I've been watching is Maria-sama ga Miteru. I've always heard of Marimite as a popular yuri title, so I was curious. I really haven't seen a lot of yuri anime, and I'd like to see more. My main worry with this one was that it's a simple, schoolgirl slice-of-life type show. And I don't usually care for those much. I get bored too easily if there isn't some action, or magic, or whatever else going on. ^^;; Still, I decided to try it out. Luckily, Hulu has the entire series up!

So, will I buy it? Maybe. I think I want to watch more before I decide, but I'm leaning toward yes.
And I'm oddly amused by this whole thing; I went into this expecting to love Hakuouki, and not care much for Marimite. But I think almost the reverse happened! From what I've seen so far, I'm enjoying Marimite more. I do intend to watch more of both, though.
