Supernatural Episode 5x01
Yay, the new season of Supernatural started tonight~! So, of course, I have to squee a bit.
-- Okay, so what was with the plane? I'm assuming they'll explain that later, but I'm curious.
-- I really, really don't like Zachariah. =P I mean, he's kind of neat in a character sense; sort of a villain, but supposedly on the side of good? But as a person (so to speak), he's a rat bastard.
-- Dude...the fangirl. Yikes. I'd say it's pretty damn obvious that the writers are aware of the fandom. *Cringe* Not all of us are that nuts, I promise.
-- So...Sam's normal again? I mean, it's nice and all, but it still feels a little...sudden? Like, *poof* all is well again? I don't know. I want Sam to be sane and not a junkie, but I'm curious as what's going to happen now.
-- I just about freaked when Bobby started saying all those awful things to Sam. I thought something must be up; surely he wouldn't actually react that way! My guess was that he was faking it for some reason. Though, the whole demon-possessed thing makes a lot more sense; I really should have thought of it. ^^;;
-- And what's with Bobby getting stabbed, and maybe not being able to walk again?! D= Writers, you are not allowed to mess with Bobby. Seriously. If he's not alive and in one piece at the end of the season, I'm going to bust some heads. (Not really, obviously. But I have such a huge soft spot for him...I really will be upset if anything happens to him.)
-- The episode title is rather apt...I actually do feel sorry for the poor schmuck who ends up being Lucifer's vessel. I'd wondered how they'd find someone to host him, since angels require consent to possess you.
-- Dean...is Michael's vessel? Bwuh? Now I'm wondering if anything will actually come of that...he sure seemed hell-bent against it. Not that I blame him. He saw what happened to Jimmy.
-- Maaaaan. Castiel can kick some ass when he wants to! =D That was pretty damn cool. We didn't get to see him fight all that much last season; a bit, sure, but not a lot. And he stuck up for the Winchesters, so he earned some points right there. =)
-- And the bit with Sam and Dean in the hospital parking lot at the end was so sad. I'd heard that this season would work on rebuilding their relationship, and I really hope that's true. I just hate to see them like that. Though, I don't blame Dean in the slightest. I'd probably feel the same way.
-- Although...and this though just kinda popped into my head tonight, but...Y'know how it seems like most people think Sam went kinda crazy, or was just insanely arrogant and self-centered, and that explains his actions in season 4? Well, that's one good explanation for it...but I think I have another. (And I'm not saying no one else ever thought of this; just that it occurred to me tonight) Honestly...seeing Sam this past season, he was like a junkie. Really. The whole demon's blood thing...he may as well have been doing drugs. And it fits. Dean dies, and goes to Hell, and Sam thinks it's all his fault. And he's unable to resurrect Dean, no matter what he tries. So, he starts doing drugs (aka the demon blood) to cope. A few months later, Dean comes back, but Sam's already addicted enough that he can't stop. (And possibly doesn't even realize that there's a real problem.) And from there on in, it's typical junkie behavior. Secrets, attitude problems, withdrawals when he has to go without...and he's willing to do increasingly crazy and desperate things to make sure he gets what he needs. Heck, Bobby and Dean had a freaking intervention, and locked him up to detox! So, I wonder...how much is Sam really to blame for what he did? Don't get me wrong, I'm not excusing him. But, going with the junkie theory, he wasn't really in his right mind. So, really...his crime was getting addicted and not telling Dean sooner (and asking for help), rather than being an arrogant bastard who brought on the apocalypse because of it. Or, at least, that's one way of looking at it. ^^
Duuuude. Is it next Thursday yet? =D
