Argh!
God, computer problems suck.
I got BSOD'd on Wednesday night, and then the damn thing wouldn't even boot. At all. So, I left Dad a note, asking him to look at it. He did, and on Friday night he told me that the hard drive had failed. He thinks it's that the circuit board got messed up, because the drive still spins, but nothing he plugs it into will recognize it as a drive.
So, I lost everything that I didn't have backed up somewhere. Which is a fair bit. (And the thing that really gets me? I was planning to do a backup this weekend! Yeah. I'd thought about it last week, but didn't get around to it. So, I was going to do it this week. You see how well that worked. =P)
I've been able to track down some of what I lost. (FMA episodes, manga, etc.) I spent most of yesterday downloading stuff. And today, I'm trying to find a way to figure out a way to get back the music I lost. Finding the mp3s isn't the problem so much as knowing what they are. I've got most of them on my iPod, but I can't figure out how to sort the files the way I need.
See, my main library in iTunes was sorted by date. (So the newest files were at the bottom of the list.) But my playlists are sorted alphabetically. I don't know if there's a way to view my whole library, sorted the way I had it, on my iPod. I've not been able to find anything about that yet. Anybody know?
Or, failing that, is it possible to copy files from my iPod to my computer? That would work, too. But I don't know how to do that, either. Neither does Dad. Again, anybody know anything?
Oh, and by the way, I still don't have my computer back. I went to Warren's on Saturday to buy a new HD, but they were out of the size I needed. So, I have to wait until they can get one ordered. (Linda said hopefully they'd have it on Tuesday, which isn't too bad. But still.) And since I'm upgrading, I'm probably going to have to buy a new external drive fairly soon, too. They need to be the same size, y'know?
So I'm on my laptop for the time being. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get that drive soon, and that Dad will get everything put back together ASAP.

And here I am a week later, still with no computer! I bought my shiny new 1 TB hard drive on Wednesday, but my dad's been too busy to get things put back together. (I swear, I'm such a bad geek. I should be able to do this myself, but my dad's a Tech God, so I usually let him handle my repairs.)
I KNOW, RIGHT? I'M GOING A LITTLE STIR-CRAZY HERE, WITHOUT REGULAR COMPUTER TIME AND INTERNET ACCESS. =(
