.: This Girl's Daybreak :.

Seems I spoke too soon...Semagic decided to be a bitch and not work like it should. I've gotten all sorts of different errors, and there's no apparent rhyme or reason to it. I think it's working now...this post is just a test to be sure of that. So, um...carry on.

I've been mostly offline for the past week or so, due to a few different reasons. So it was just this weekend that I saw the news about the earthquake/tsunami in Japan. That's just...it's so awful. And scary. I don't have any friends who live there, but still. It makes me feel a little sick. I hope that everyone will be okay, and that they'll be able to start getting back on their feet as soon as possible. My thoughts are with them. =(

On a lighter note, I started watching Nanoha StrikerS this week. I'm only eight episodes in, so I haven't quite made up my mind yet. But most of my impressions so far are good. I mostly like the newbies, but I'd like to see the original cast get a little more attention...sometimes it feels like they're being ignored in favor of the newbies. Also, is it just me, or is Fate/Nanoha even more hinted than it was before? It looks like they live together...heck, there was one scene that kind of implied that they shared a bedroom. I ship them either way, but I was a little surprised. XD

I'm interested to see what the main plot of this season will be...they haven't really gotten into it yet. That's one thing I like a little bit less...since this season is longer than the other two, I think the pacing isn't quite as good. It's taking a while to get going, whereas things started almost right away in the previous seasons. Not that it's awful pacing, by any stretch. Just different. Overall, I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of it.

Also, I signed up over at Dreamwidth. My username is wildvision there, too. I'm not planning on leaving LJ or anything, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to have another backup. And I've heard good things about it. So, sometime later, I'll make it pretty and copy my entries over to it.

As to any real life stuff, about the only interesting thing that happened lately is that we got a new fridge. It's a big side-by-side with an ice maker in the door. We've never had one like that before, and we're all absurdly entertained by it. It's nice, though. Bigger than our old one, and pretty. Plus, the ice maker is damn convenient. And fun to play with. Yes, I have no life, I know. >_>

Well, I finally backed up my LJ this past weekend.

All the hullabaloo about the staff cuts made me realize that I've been here for what, five or so years, and I've never done a backup. Somehow, it never occurred to me that it could be done. So, I acquired the necessary programs, and got it done. I've now got a human-readable copy to store on my HD, and I've mirrored the content on another journaling site. I'm now wildvision over at InsaneJournal, too.

Also, it seems that I can update both my LJ and IJ simultaneously, using Semagic. (Which is already my client of choice.) So, this post is a test. Here's hoping it'll work. =)

Well, I finished that coding. And I even redid this journal's user info, while I was at it.

Thankfully, the problem wasn't nearly as frustrating this morning. And I officially feel stupid...the coding was so damn simple. Kat == idiot, apparently. XD

Well, I caved. I bought a permanent account.

After poking my bank accounts, I found I could justify the expense. And as to the recent kerfluffle here at LJ....well, let's call this a leap of faith. I've been a happy LJer for almost 4 years now. I want to give them another chance; call it a moment of uncharacteristic optimism. ^^;; Hear that guys? *Waggles finger* You be good now! XD

...Now I just have pick out some new icons to fill those extra spaces. =D

1. This is actually my second username. I started at LJ with the username kitsuneonna, which I chose because I'd been using that as an online handle for a while. (It's a reference to Megumi from RK) I later bought a rename token and changed it to wildvision. I'd been wanting to change it for a while, but I was having trouble picking a new name. I finally decided on this one because it matched my domain name (Wild-Vision.org), and I was fond of the name.

2. My journal is titled "This Girl's Daybreak" because one of my first, and favorite, Japanese songs is Megumi Hayashibara's "Daybreak Impression". I looked up the translated lyrics, and came up with this.

3. My subtitle is "A sudden spark, to unbind me...I have to find my dawn..." which are translated lyrics from "Daybreak Impression".

4. My friends page is called "Kat's Friends" because I'm horribly uncreative. =P

5. My default userpic is for several reasons. I've wanted to use this icon for a while, 'cause I love Yuugiou (especially the AE aspect). Plus, it matches my pretty new Atemu layout. <3

...It's been a while since I really posted, hasn't it? =P Only a few things going on; none of them terribly important. ^^;;

I finally got my hair colored again today; I swear, I totally fail at keeping my hair done properly. But I'm a fiery redhead once more, so I'm pleased. <3 Also, I finally beat FFX. Apparently I leveled way more than I needed to; I kicked ass so easily on all the final bosses. =D And I have to say...I really need to get started on FFX-2. Seriously...with that ending, I'm really itching to see what, if anything, comes of that very last scene.

And I must say, I'm really disappointed about this whole debacle that's been going on with LJ lately. It seems they're working to fix it, but I'm uncomfortable that it ever happened at all. I was going to buy a permanent account this summer, but now I probably won't. Not until I see that they won't let this kind of shit happen again. Hell...I wasn't even affected, really. I don't read/write that type of fic. But it's the slippery slope factor that worries me. This time the moral crusade was against rape/incest/etc. Next time, who knows. There are a lot of fic subjects that the religious reich has problems with; smut, violence, slash of any rating, etc. What's next, y'know? Only time will tell how LJ handles all this, I guess. I'll just cross my fingers and hope for the best.

On a more pleasant note, Madre said we might get to go see POTC3 tomorrow. I really hope so; I'm just dying to know what they do with it. (And no, I don't want spoilers, flist. XD)

...I think it's time for another revamp for this journal. I want a new layout, and some new icons. Not sure which way I'll go with that, but hopefully I'll be making some changes soon. <3

Right on the heels of my new username is a new layout! I used my previous one for quite a while, and I thought it was time for a change.

It's mostly done, though I may tweak it a bit more tomorrow; I'm out of time, tonight.

I'm also in the process of changing some of my icons; I have some new ones, and I'll be adding some tomorrow, probably.

Well, I think my car's fixed. I hope. I'm getting sick of being driven around, or having to drive Rich's car. Though, that's preferable to having Mom drive me everywhere. =P Since I used to hate driving, you wouldn't think I'd mind. But it's been annoying me for some reason.

As for my car, the steering had been out of whack for a little while; I just kept forgetting to tell Dad about it. ^^;; Mom drove it and noticed right away, so she told Dad to look at it. She was afraid that the front end needed realigning. Turns out that I just need some new tires...there were cords (?) showing on these. ^^;; So, he finally took it in yesterday to get it looked at.

And I'm off tomorrow! Yay! Seriously...I need a day off. I've been working a lot lately, plus going to class, so I'll really appreciate having a day where I don't have to go anywhere. =D I've got several things I want to do, too. Play Kingdom Hearts, watch these DVDs I got from Netflix, various online things...I'll have a hard time deciding!

Also, I renewed my LJ account the other day. So, I'm good for another year. Plus, I've got more icons! I forget what they're calling the program, but apparently you get extra icons for time you've been with LJ, or something like that. So, I've now got 9 more icons to pick out. Plus I might go through and change out some of my old ones...we'll see.

And I really need to decide on a domain name...I want to get the name and space purchased, so I can get my sites up and running properly. Rich is happy with the guy he bought his from, so I'm going to have him help me get mine set up. But I need a name, first. And I just can't think of anything! Any ideas, oh FList of mine? =D

...And I'd better wrap this up. Rather random entry, wasn't it? ^^;; But I've got to work today, so I'll need to be getting ready shortly. Ja ne~!

Apparently, LJ has upped the number of icons you get when you buy extra ones from 50 to 100. Needless to say, I'm very happy. <3 I'll have to go through and fill up the rest of my space later.

Next, I continue my plugging of sky_dark's wonderful fic, TARM:SET. Parts 17, 18, 19, and 20 - Finale are now up. I'm sad to see it end, though it was a good ending. But, I can't be too sad, 'cause sky_dark says that she's going to write a sequel, after a bit of a break. <3 I look forward to it greatly!

Oh, and I am now listening to this song *points to current music* waaaaay too much. I blame sky_dark; go here to see why. XD
