...Finally. Oh, I'm so glad my schedule's back to normal now. =D

Well, I had a really nice 4th of July...we actually did something this year, which is a bit surprising. Mom barbecued, and made lots of good food. Oh, God...it was so awesome. (Remember, I work nights now; I hardly ever get cooked for, any more. Woe. So, this is kind of a big deal.) And, and! Jason came over~! He ate dinner with us and stayed for quite a while, besides. So, I got good food, and I got to see my these-days-AWOL best friend. I'm a happy, happy Kat. <3

And, I was even productive this weekend! I've finished a lot of recs for Glaring Dream; haven't posted yet, 'cause I think I'm going to do more later. Also hunted down a few new fics, and quite a few new mp3s. Yay.

I've also been poking some new anime/manga series. I downloaded a chunk of the beginning of the One Piece manga, 'cause I keep seeing it around, and I think I'd like it. (Uber-long shounen series? Check. Friendship-heavy theme? Check. Pirates? Yes, please!) So, hopefully I'll get that read soon. And, episode 1 of Slayers REVOLUTION just came out. I've got it downloaded, though I haven't watched it yet. I'm really hoping this new season'll be good...we'll have to wait and see.

Oooh, and one of my very favorite fanfics (A Good Offense by [livejournal.com profile] joisbishmyoga) is off hiatus and updating again. <3 And all I have to say about ch.18 is that I really hope she's able to get the next one up soon. God, talk about a cliffhanger! I can't wait. =D

...and I have this song stuck in my heaaaaad. *Points to current music* I've never even played this game...I heard the song in a music video, and now it's eaten my brain. Sheesh. XD

...That about sums it up, actually. ^^

So glad that it's the weekend, even though I've still got stuff to do. But, I also got some stuff done. So, yay. Lemme see...I finished my English paper. While I still maintain that satire is not my friend, at least it's done. And my folks loved it, which may or may not mean anything. ^^;; Also, got started on my CS program. My English professor let us leave like, ten minutes into the class, so I had nearly an extra hour to fiddle with it. Not sure how much progress I've made; but at least I've started.

Also, I finally got to watch my newest Netflix disk; Inu-Yasha volume 30. Man, I'm really loving this series. And this disk was just awesome. It was all pretty much just filler, but still. Two of the three episodes were adorably humorous fluff that made the Inu-Yasha/Kagome fangirl in me squeal. ♥ Speaking of which...anybody read IY fic? If so, got any recs? Preferably Inu-Yasha/Kagome, but Sango/Miroku would be nice, too.

And! New chapter of [livejournal.com profile] sky_dark's Better Living Through Alchemy, here! Much love. ♥!

Well, I'm off. Ja ne~!
wildvision: (Hawkeye - Got your back)
Two posts in one day? Yup!

And I have much to squee about. First, Chapter 5 of [livejournal.com profile] sky_dark's Better Living Through Alchemy is up! (Previous chapters here) I'm really interested in how she's handling Al and his memories...and hence, am always dying for the next chapter! Especially this time...but I won't say any more, for fear of spoiling. And you all know how much I love her Roy/Ed. ♥ 'Tis a thing of beauty.

Also, found a lovely little Havoc/Hawkeye drabble here. And, better yet, she's taking requests! She even wrote an awesome Izumi/Seig drabble for me, here. ♥

On a non-fandom related note, I finished my CS homework. ^_^V Also, I'm thinking that this tutor will help. I really hope so! Dang...I just realized; I have two tests on Thursday. One in Calc and one in Japanese. That kinda sucks. Plus, I have that English paper to write. Oh, well.

And now, I'm off to wash my hair. Ja~!
wildvision: (Edward - Indiana Jones)
Apparently, LJ has upped the number of icons you get when you buy extra ones from 50 to 100. Needless to say, I'm very happy. <3 I'll have to go through and fill up the rest of my space later.

Next, I continue my plugging of [livejournal.com profile] sky_dark's wonderful fic, TARM:SET. Parts 17, 18, 19, and 20 - Finale are now up. I'm sad to see it end, though it was a good ending. But, I can't be too sad, 'cause [livejournal.com profile] sky_dark says that she's going to write a sequel, after a bit of a break. <3 I look forward to it greatly!

Oh, and I am now listening to this song *points to current music* waaaaay too much. I blame [livejournal.com profile] sky_dark; go here to see why. XD

Also, a slightly updated to-do list:

Again, cut 'cause no one else cares. )

Well, I'm off to fiddle with iTunes a bit, and then I'm off to work.
wildvision: (Roy/Ed - A Thrill (TARM:SET))
Well, I had a bit of a scare today; I thought I'd fried my computer.

Weird thing is, I didn't really do anything. Just plugged my iPod in, so I could add some more music to it. As soon as I plugged the cable into the USB port, my machine shuts itself off. And refused to turn back on. O_O I didn't know what to do with it, and I had to go to work anyway, so I left a note for my dad to look at it.

I figured that I'd fried my power supply, at least. Was afraid I might have fried my HD, too. Imagine my surprise when I get home from work and Mom says, "Dad fixed your computer." I turn it on and, sure enough, it boots up just like normal. So, I go and ask Dad. Turns out all he had to do was reset my power supply, and it turned on just fine. I was so relieved! ^_^

Also, I must gush a bit about my current favorite fic, [livejournal.com profile] sky_dark's TARM:SET. Parts 15 and 16 are now up. Things are getting a bit harsher now; [livejournal.com profile] sky_dark has a real mastery of writing real, compellling emotion. She really makes you feel for these characters, and what they're going through. We're all waiting anxiously for the next installment. ^_^
wildvision: (Ed & Al - Ready Steady Go)
...what? It is. ^_^

Madre and I went to pick up the rest of my textbooks for this semester; got them all but one, a book for my CS course...still don't know what language it's going to be in. >_> Also, got my parking sticker. So, I'm just about set.

After we finished with the school stuff, we ended up shopping a bit. I got some manga; a couple of volumes of Yuugiou, one of Saiyuki Reload, and one of Bleach. Much love. <3 Was especially pleased to see that they're starting to release the graphic novels for the AE arc...I thought they'd wait until they put out Battle City, but I guess not.

Also, I bought one more thing. I am now the proud owner of a 20 GB iPod. ^_^ I'd been thinking about getting one for a while now, and I finally caved. And I got it at Target, so I saved, like, $30 with my employee discount. <3 I've been playing around with it a bit, and I'm pretty happy so far...still need to organize my files better, though. Maybe I'll do that later. ^^

And, of course, I must squee about my current fanfic of choice, [livejournal.com profile] sky_dark's TARM:SET. Parts 11, 12, 13, 14 are currently out. I'm afraid that I'm not coherent enough to properly praise it; just take my word for it, and go read it!

...And now, I'm off. To write recs for Glaring Dream, or to fiddle with my iPod. Not sure which yet. ^^;;
wildvision: (Roy/Ed - Pawns)
...I bring you more fic links.

Chapter 36 - Finale of Pawns, by [livejournal.com profile] velvet_mace:

And, so it ends. I must admit, I'll miss regularly checking for new chapters...this is one of my favorite FMA fics, ever. But, as is to be expected, the author finished things off beautifully. I won't say more, for fear of spoiling; just let me say that I loved it, and am happy with it. <3

Part 10 of TARM:SET, by [livejournal.com profile] sky_dark:

Another great chapter; Havoc amused me in this one. I felt a bit sorry for Roy, even if Havoc's requests were humorously appropriate. Also, liked the little sweet moment between him and Roy. Very nice. As usual, I'm anxious for the next installment. ^_^

...And now, I'm off to find a snack. ^_^
wildvision: (Roy - Traditional clothes)
...No, really, I am!

My mother bought me a little plot of land on a Scottish estate; she'd meant it to be a Christmas gift, but she ended up telling me about it beforehand. Granted, it's not any significant amount of land...but still! It's completely legal; I've got a title deed, and, according to Scottish law, the legal right to use the title 'Lady'. Cool, ne? *Grins* Yes, I am easily amused.

Had a real idiot at work tonight. I'm standing at my register, when this lady comes up to me to ask a question. She wanted to know if we had single bottles of water, other than the ones in the cooler. Turns out she wanted to mix some formula for her baby, but didn't want to have to buy a 6-pack of bottled water, and couldn't use the cold ones. I told her I didn't think we did; even asked my GSTL to make sure. Answer's no. So, resigned to buy a larger quantity of water, she heads off to fetch some...leaving her baby (which is small enough to be in a carrier) in her cart, in the middle of my lane.

My GSTL and I were both kinda shocked...we couldn't believe this moron actually went off and left her kid. My GSTL was muttering under her breath about how stupid it was...I just wanted the thing out of my lane. =P She ended up taking the cart (and baby) up to the service desk, so I could go back to helping customers...but geez! How stupid do you have to be to do something like that? When I told my mom about it later, she said I should have asked my GSTL to call DCFS...I agree; I probably would have, if I hadn't been so surprised at the time. Honestly...If you're willing to just go off and leave your kid in the care of a couple of random strangers (who never agreed to watch it, btw)...that's a pretty good sign that you have no business having kids. =P

And now, for the fics!

Chapters 34 and 35 of Pawns, by [livejournal.com profile] velvet_mace.

This fic is as brilliant as ever. She's wrapping things up beautifully...shouldn't be too much longer until this one's done. As much as I want to see how it ends, I'll really miss scouring LJ for new Pawns chapters. ^^;;

Parts 7, 8, 9 of TARM:SET, by [livejournal.com profile] sky_dark.

I truly am in awe of [livejournal.com profile] sky_dark's ability to produce such wonderful fic, so quickly! Humorous, serious, sweet...this fic has it all! If you like Roy/Ed, and haven't read this yet, then get to it!

And Again!

Jul. 26th, 2005 09:48 pm
wildvision: (Roy/Ed - Snuggle)
Today is a very good day for fanfic. ^_^

First, we have Chapter 33 of Pawns, by [livejournal.com profile] velvet_mace:

As evidenced by the last few chapters, this author is a master of suspense. Things come to a head in this chapter, and the tension is truly palpable. I can't really say more without giving something away. Just go read it. *Squee!*

Next, [livejournal.com profile] anax has posted Part 14 and the Epilogue of Völuspá:

A lovely end to a stunning fic. Beautifully bittersweet, yet a happier end than many expected. I can't properly gush without spoiling it, so just go read it!

And finally, Part 6 of [livejournal.com profile] sky_dark's Roy/Ed fic:

I adore this chapter for so many reasons. Ed, Al, Roy, Hawkeye...all so amusing and wonderful! This fic's traditional humor is there in force, as is the usual emotion. And that ending? *Squee!* I can't wait for the next chapter!
wildvision: (Edward - Squee!)
Because I am a rabid fangirl. ^_^V

Lemme see...what have we got?

Chapters 31 and 32 of Pawns, by [livejournal.com profile] velvet_mace:

Now, I adore this fic. Absolutely cannot say that enough. And these last couple of chapters? As brilliantly written as ever, complete with absolutely evil cliffhangers. I can't really say much, without spoiling something, so I'll keep quiet. *Flails* I only hope that she gets more posted soon! (As if two chapters in one day wasn't impressive enough!)

Also, [livejournal.com profile] anax says that he's finished Völuspá, but is waiting a bit to edit it before he posts it....Wah. While I do want the ending to be good, I also want it now! *Makes grabby motions*

And we have Part 5 of [livejournal.com profile] sky_dark's awesome Roy/Ed fic, of course. Another one that I'm anxiously awaiting a new chapter for. ^_^ She's got such a great handle on the characters, and Roy and Ed's relationship is progressing beautifully. If you haven't already read it, get to it!

Man, so much good fic...and I still want more! *Watches authors hopefully*
wildvision: (Hawkeye - Riza)
I finally got to play my new game again...

More Crimson Elixir babbling... )

...and, with an interesting piece of luck, there is a new chapter of Völuspá, here. And the author says that the next chapter is the last (plus the epilogue)...Oooh! I can't wait to see how he resolves things! *Fangirls*

*Fangirls*

Jul. 16th, 2005 11:23 pm
wildvision: (Roy/Ed - Pawns)
I am a very, very happy fangirl.

Why? Because I just bought both the new FMA game and the new HP book. ^_^V I picked them up after work today; got them both at Target, for a pretty good price (plus my discount). My store rules. <3

Been playing the game since after dinner. Watch me ramble!

Cut for Crimson Elixir babbling )

And, for all my fangirling over it, I won't get to start reading HBP just yet...I'm rereading OOTP first, since I haven't read it since it came out. So, I'm working on that, as well. Watch Kat speed-read! I'm dying to see what they do in this one!

...Also, Pawns Chapter 29 is up! Woohoo! *Uses her pretty Pawns icon to celebrate* I love this fic...Things are starting to come to a head (and the author's said that the end is drawing near), so things are really getting tense. I wonder how it's all going to end up. *Squee* Now, if only we could get the next chapter of Völuspá, too...(Hey, a girl can dream, can't she?)
wildvision: (Roy - Too sexy)
Yes, I see these things, and I must squee...for I am a total fangirl. ^^;; Two things, today.

First. Pawns Chapter 27 is up. This just made my night; really it did. I adore this fic. <3 <3 If you like FMA and haven't read it yet, go do it already!

Second. Subbed version of the 4th FMA movie trailer is posted here. Not that I haven't seen this thing a hundred times already (What? It's probably the best trailer so far!), but it's nice to see it subbed.

...Also, I got some new icons, such as this pretty Roy one. *Pets icons* I swear...LJ needs to allow for more than just 50 icons. I could fill up my quota several times without much trouble. ^^;;
wildvision: (Edward - Fullmetal)
...That about sums up how I feel about today.

My oh-so-lovely day started off with my oversleeping (Damn alarm didn't go off. *Kicks it*), and thus being late for work. Seeing that my shift started at 11:00, I'd set my alarm for 9:00. And when did I wake up? Roughly 11:15. And I only got up then 'cause I heard the phone ringing, and happened to roll over and look at the clock. Cue frantic dash to get ready and extremely apologetic call to my place of employment informing them that yes, I'm alive and on my way. So, I got to work shortly before 12:00. An hour late. Grah. I didn't get in trouble, but I felt awful about it. I'm always very punctual, and I hate being late.

Could this lovely day get any better? Why, yes, it could! It just so happens that I'm feeling like crap today. (I hate being female. *Stabs*) So I'm uber-pissy, and stressed over being late...plus feeling lousy physically. So, yeah. My shift was fun. =P

I'm just glad to be home...my day has improved since I came home. For one, I got my next set of disks from Netflix, so I have stuff to watch. Also, I was pleasently surprised to find a link to Pawns Chapter 26 while checking [livejournal.com profile] fma_yaoi. Yay for new Pawns-y goodness. ^^

Also, watched our new copy of Paul McCartney in Red Square that I'd not had a chance to watch yet. Much <3 for Sir Paul. He rocks muchly. I can't wait to see him in concert again! *Counts down days 'til October*

*Looks at clock* Yeesh, it's that late already? Suppose I'll wrap this up, then. I still need to wash my hair tonight. =P
wildvision: (Atemu - Pharaoh)
...So, Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it, and any other appropriate greeting to those who don't. ^^

I slept later than I meant to today...I just got up a little while ago. ^^;; I should have thought to set the alarm...I have to go in to work at 8:00 tomorrow, meaning I have to get up at 6:00ish...And getting up at 1:00pm doesn't exactly make it easy to go to bed early. =P Ah, well. Can't be helped.

Since Madre had to work today, we exchanged our gifts last night. I got volumes 5-9 of the Flame of Recca manga, which I loved. ^_^ That series has really grown on me. I also some other random things, mostly from well-meaning family members.

Jason's wanting to come over for a while, to see me, and to exchange our gifts...but I'm not sure that I want him to. It kinda sucks...I've been in this weird, almost mopey mood since yesterday...I hate being moody on Christmas. =P I'll wait until Madre gets home and ask if she minds him coming over...so I may or may not see him today.

I'm going to have to remember to see if I work this Thursday...if not, maybe I can at least get the family to go out to eat, or something, for my birthday...I don't know where or what, but I want to do something.

On the positive side, there's a new chapter up of "The New Students", here. Also, I finally got the first volume of Gravitation from Netflix. <3 Now I really want the other three!

Meh...I suppose I'll go putter around online a bit, then get some breakfast. Off I go...
wildvision: (TK!Bakura - Nothing to lose)
...Geez, it's been a while, hasn't it? *Guilty* There's just not been anything to write about, really. =P

Let's see...I changed my icons and color scheme again...I wanted teal for some reason, so I picked out a couple of new Bakura (Yami and TK) icons to go with it. ^^

I've been keeping up with Yuugiou, and I must say that I'm starting to wish that I hadn't read those scanslations yet...'cause, with the way the anime's deviating from the manga, I'm getting confused. ^^;; Still, I watch. And I finally managed to download a few of the back episodes that I was missing...Now, all I need is episode 202 and I'll have all of the post-KC-Grand-Prix episodes. Figures...202 is the one when TK!Bakura shows up in the Pharaoh's court. I really want to get this one...The annoying thing is, I've been able to download part of it; 95%, I believe. But I can't ever get it connect/find someone seeding it so I can get that last little bit...and it won't play properly as it is now. =P

*Points to current music* I just recently downloaded this song....Gooooood song; though won't say a word about the lyrics. ^^;; And the live video....*G* Well, I'll say this; I can see why people fangirl over it. ^^

...And, of course, no one's online or anything. =P I'm bored...I want to talk to someone, already!

I've been reading fan fiction, but I'm starting to run out of good stories...I finally got around to reading "Being Dead Ain't Easy". Interesting premise, and well-written. I really enjoyed it. ^^ Now, I just need to find some others to read...I'm actually at the point that I'm considering digging through FanFiction.net's directory. *Winces* I'd rather not do that unless I have to, though. =P

...And I want to write, but I don't know what to write. I really hate that...I'd like to write something Protectshippy or Tendershippy, but I need an idea, first...*Wanders off to hunt for one*
